Capcom has unexpectedly released a brand-new free update for Resident Evil Requiem, introducing a new action-focused game mode centered around Leon S. Kennedy.
Leon Must Die Forever Available Now
The new mode, called Leon Must Die Forever, is now available on all platforms. Players must complete the main story at least once before unlocking the content.
The update brings a fresh challenge mode focused on combat, survival, and high-score gameplay.
Inspired by Classic Mercenaries Mode
Many fans are already comparing Leon Must Die Forever to the classic Mercenaries mode featured in previous Resident Evil games.
Players must eliminate waves of enemies as efficiently as possible while surviving under time pressure in familiar locations from Resident Evil Requiem.
Bonus Time and Stronger Enemies
Kills reward bonus time and points, while tougher enemy variants offer higher scores. The mode encourages aggressive and strategic gameplay for better rankings.
Capcom also confirmed enhanced versions of familiar enemies, increasing the challenge for experienced players.
New Enhancer System Adds Variety
One of the biggest additions is the new Enhancer system. Leon can unlock temporary combat upgrades during runs, including:
- Increased handgun and revolver damage
- Improved melee abilities
- Parries that restore weapon durability
- Additional combat-focused perks
