Weekly Gaming Recap: GTA 6, PlayStation Rumors, Metro and More

It was another busy week in gaming with plenty of major rumors, announcements, and updates making headlines. From new GTA 6 discussions to Metro rumors and PlayStation speculation, here’s a look at the biggest stories of the week.

GTA 6 Continues To Dominate Headlines

As expected, Grand Theft Auto 6 remained one of the biggest topics of the week.

One of the biggest discussions came from Jay Klaitz, the actor best known for voicing Lester in GTA 5. He suggested that if Rockstar needs more time, another delay could actually help improve the final game.

There were also fresh rumors about the PC release. According to recent reports, GTA 6 could launch on PC as early as February 2027, only a few months after the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S release currently planned for November 19, 2026.

At the same time, fans continued to debate some of the latest leaks surrounding the game. Reports about restricted weapon inventories, more realistic gameplay systems, possible GTA+ monetization, and technical differences between the PS5 Pro and standard consoles sparked a lot of discussion.

Rockstar Confirms Recent Data Breach

Rockstar Games also confirmed this week that it was affected by a third-party data breach.

According to the company, only a limited amount of non-material company information was accessed, and there was no impact on players or Rockstar’s operations.

Still, the news brought back memories of the major GTA 6 leak in 2022, when more than 90 early gameplay clips were released online.

New PlayStation State of Play Rumored

PlayStation fans may not have to wait much longer for new announcements.

Several insiders suggested this week that Sony could hold another State of Play on April 17. While nothing has been officially confirmed yet, rumors suggest the event could include updates on Marvel’s Wolverine, Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet, Resident Evil Requiem DLC, and even Ubisoft’s rumored Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake.

Metro Rumors Are Heating Up

Fans of post-apocalyptic shooters also had something to get excited about.

Multiple insiders claimed this week that a brand-new Metro game could be announced very soon, possibly during the rumored State of Play event.

According to previous comments from 4A Games, the next Metro title is expected to be darker and more brutal than Metro Exodus, with a bigger focus on survival systems, dynamic weather, and safe zones.

Assassin’s Creed Black Flag Remake Could Finally Be Revealed

Ubisoft was also back in the spotlight thanks to new reports about the long-rumored Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag remake.

Several sources claimed that the game could finally be announced next week. Internally, the project is reportedly known as “Resynced.”

For many players, a return to the world of Edward Kenway and pirate battles would easily be one of Ubisoft’s biggest announcements in years.

PS6 Price Rumors Worry Fans

There was also fresh discussion this week about the PlayStation 6.

According to a new analysis, the PS6 may not reach the feared $1,000 price point, but tariffs and rising hardware costs could still push the console close to $950.

The report also claimed Sony may include much more RAM in the next generation, especially if memory prices improve before launch.

Resident Evil Requiem Remains A Huge Success

Capcom’s Resident Evil Requiem continues to perform extremely well.

The game has already sold more than 6 million copies and recently reached a new concurrent player record for the franchise on Steam.

However, the game also sparked debate this week after reports claimed that the cracked PC version runs better than the official Denuvo-protected release, offering higher FPS and lower VRAM usage.

Marathon’s Budget Revealed

Bungie’s Marathon was another major talking point.

According to recent reports, the game’s development budget exceeded $200 million and may have even passed $250 million.

Despite solid reviews, the game’s player count has dropped significantly since launch, leading many players to question whether Sony’s live-service strategy is still working.

Other Big Stories This Week

A few other stories also stood out:

  • Borderlands Mobile surprised fans with a huge amount of launch content
  • Mortal Kombat 1 passed 8 million copies sold
  • A Metal Gear Solid movie may finally be moving forward
  • Halo: Campaign Evolved rumors continued to build
  • Microsoft showed more gameplay for Forza Horizon 6
  • Cthulhu: The Cosmic Abyss released a new demo on Steam
  • LEGO revealed several new ONE PIECE sets based on Netflix’s live-action series

The next few days could end up being even bigger, especially if PlayStation really does hold another State of Play event.
