The upcoming Elden Ring movie appears to have reached a major production milestone. According to a now-deleted Instagram post from prop maker Sean Schofield, principal photography on the highly anticipated fantasy adaptation has officially wrapped.
While neither the studio nor director Alex Garland has confirmed the news, the post suggests the project has now entered its lengthy post-production phase.
Prop maker calls it his „dream job“
Sean Schofield briefly shared a photo on Instagram showing a wrap gift from the production alongside a heartfelt message thanking the cast and crew. The post was later deleted.

In his message, Schofield described working on the film as:
„The dream job. Six months of blood, sweat and tears creating the coolest things imaginable. I’m incredibly proud of what we’ve achieved.“
Although he didn’t reveal any details about the movie itself, the post strongly indicates that filming has now concluded.
Alex Garland is directing the adaptation
It has already been confirmed that acclaimed filmmaker Alex Garland is directing the Elden Ring movie.
Garland is best known for directing films such as Ex Machina, Annihilation, and Civil War, earning a reputation for visually striking and thought-provoking science fiction and fantasy projects.
So far, however, neither the full cast nor specific story details have been officially revealed. It also remains unclear how closely the film will follow the events of FromSoftware’s award-winning action RPG.

According to current plans, the Elden Ring movie is scheduled to premiere in theaters on March 3, 2028.
