It turns out that earning the Platinum Trophy in Crimson Desert takes far longer than many players expected.
First Platinum Earned After 285 Hours
According to PSN Profiles, the first player to unlock the Platinum Trophy spent a total of 285 hours in the game.

User N-A-E-C-A-B-O-N reached the achievement after just 15 days. That means they played an average of around 19 hours per day.
As a result, Crimson Desert is already becoming one of the most time-consuming Platinum Trophy hunts on PlayStation.
Only Five Players Have Reached 100 Percent
So far, only five players have fully completed Crimson Desert on PlayStation.
All of them needed close to 300 hours to finish everything the game has to offer. Anyone hoping to unlock every trophy, side activity and collectible will need to invest a huge amount of time.
For trophy hunters, Crimson Desert is quickly becoming one of the biggest challenges of the year.
The Open World Is Massive
One major reason for the enormous playtime is the sheer size of Crimson Desert’s open world.
Since launch, many players have reported that even after more than 200 hours, they still had not explored every region, questline or activity.
Pearl Abyss had already said before release that even the developers themselves struggled to estimate how long a full completion run would take.
Updates Have Improved The Experience
Crimson Desert had a rough launch, with criticism aimed at its story, controls and technical issues.
However, Pearl Abyss has continued to improve the game through updates, and the massive world, huge amount of content and regular fixes are helping it win over more players.
