The launch timing for GTA 6 is becoming increasingly clear. Multiple regional PlayStation Store listings suggest that Rockstar Games is not planning a single worldwide release time. Instead, Grand Theft Auto 6 appears set to unlock at midnight in each respective region on November 19, 2026. For players in Germany, that would mean a 00:00 local launch. In New Zealand, however, players could enter Vice City many hours earlier because of the time-zone difference.
The information does not come from a typical leak.
The key evidence comes from official regional PlayStation Store listings, which now show specific release times.

GTA 6 appears set to unlock at 00:00 in Germany
The German PlayStation Store currently lists GTA 6 for November 18, 2026 at 23:00 UTC.
By November, Germany will be back on Central European Time. That means 23:00 UTC corresponds exactly to 00:00 on November 19, 2026 in Germany.
That strongly suggests the digital PS5 version of GTA 6 will unlock in Germany right at midnight, during the night from Wednesday into Thursday.
Players who have preordered the digital version and completed the preload should therefore be able to start playing immediately at 00:00.
Rockstar Games continues to officially list November 19, 2026 as the release date for PS5 and Xbox Series X|S.
GTA 6 apparently won’t have a global simultaneous launch
The situation becomes more interesting when looking at international PlayStation Store listings.
GTA-focused outlet GTAVice compared the times shown across a large number of regional stores, covering more than 60 countries and regions.
The result points toward a traditional regional midnight release.
That means GTA 6 would unlock at different moments in real-world time depending on where a player is located.
When converted to UTC, there are several hours between the earliest and latest regions.
That is different from games that launch everywhere at the same moment—for example at 00:00 UTC worldwide or at another single global time chosen by the publisher.
New Zealand could be first into Vice City
As usual, New Zealand is particularly interesting.
According to the current listings, GTA 6 is expected to unlock there at 11:00 UTC on November 18. Locally, it will already be midnight and therefore November 19.
Australia would follow around two hours later, with additional Asian, European, and American regions unlocking progressively after that.
Germany appears to be part of a larger European group scheduled for 23:00 UTC.
Players in the UK would follow one hour later, while parts of North and Central America would still have several additional hours to wait.
That means gameplay videos, livestreams, and especially spoilers could begin appearing online long before the game officially unlocks in Germany.
GTA 6 spoilers could begin spreading on November 18
The staggered rollout could be particularly significant for GTA 6.
Very few games currently attract anything close to the same level of attention.
As soon as the first players gain access to the final version, platforms such as Twitch, YouTube, TikTok, Reddit, and others are likely to fill with gameplay footage extremely quickly.
Anyone hoping to experience Jason and Lucia’s story without spoilers may therefore want to start being more cautious on social media as early as November 18.
Physical copies are another factor.
As with almost every major release, there is always the possibility that individual retailers will sell disc copies before the official launch date or that early copies will otherwise reach players ahead of schedule.
A digital midnight unlock cannot prevent that.
GTA 6 preload could begin one week earlier
Digital buyers may at least avoid having to download the entire game at midnight.
The current PlayStation Store information indicates a seven-day preload period, which would place the planned preload start on November 12, 2026.
Players could therefore have GTA 6 fully installed on their PS5 or PS5 Pro in advance and simply wait for the game to unlock.
The final download size has not yet been officially confirmed.
Given GTA 6’s scale and level of detail, however, having plenty of free SSD space available is likely to be a good idea.
The German PlayStation Store provides the strongest clue
What makes the situation especially interesting is that this is not simply a claim circulating on social media.
The official German PlayStation Store already shows the relevant UTC time.
Combined with listings from other regions, a very clear pattern emerges: GTA 6 appears set to unlock whenever November 19 begins locally in each region.
Rockstar Games has not yet published a separate major announcement explaining the exact worldwide unlock model.
Until the company officially confirms the times itself, the current PlayStation Store listings should still be treated as the basis for the expected schedule.
For German PS5 players, however, the situation currently looks very promising:
