A new image circulating online has sparked intense speculation among Diablo 4 fans. Shared by well-known dataminer “inudax,” the artwork is rumored to show concept designs for a brand-new character class planned for the second expansion, Diablo IV: Lord of Hatred.
While Blizzard has not confirmed the image’s authenticity, the leak has quickly spread across forums and social media, fueling theories about what players might see next in Sanctuary.
A Dataminer With a Track Record
The Reddit user inudax is familiar to the Diablo community. In the past, several of his discoveries regarding updates and announcements for Diablo IV turned out to be accurate. This time, he shared an illustration allegedly sourced from China, which has made some fans cautious about its legitimacy.
The artwork shows two characters. One is clearly recognizable as a Paladin. The second figure, however, is darker, more mysterious, and far more difficult to identify.
Blood Knight, Warlock, or Something Entirely New?
The community has quickly formed multiple theories about the identity of this shadowy figure:
- Blood Knight – A class already known from Diablo Immortal, combining brutal melee combat with blood magic. The thematic contrast between light (Paladin) and darkness (Blood Knight) would fit perfectly with the expansion’s tone.
- Warlock – A dark spellcaster using forbidden rituals and demonic powers, a class fans have speculated about for years.
- A completely new class – Some players believe Blizzard may introduce a brand-new archetype centered around blood, rituals, or unknown Sanctuary lore.
Interestingly, fans noticed that the mysterious character resembles a shadowy figure previously seen in official teaser material for the expansion.
No Official Confirmation Yet
At this point, it is impossible to verify whether the image is authentic. The Diablo franchise has a long history of both accurate leaks and misleading rumors that sent the community in the wrong direction.
Until Blizzard Entertainment provides official information, everything remains speculation.
Meanwhile, A Diablo 3 Feature Returns
Separately, Blizzard recently reintroduced a beloved feature from
Diablo III: the Killstreak mechanic. This change has been positively received and shows that the studio continues refining gameplay systems alongside expansion development.
Whether this leaked artwork truly offers the first glimpse at the new class in Lord of Hatred will likely be revealed only when Blizzard makes an official announcement.
