Sony has officially confirmed the next PlayStation State of Play presentation, giving fans another major showcase packed with upcoming PS5 games, new reveals, and fresh updates from both first-party and third-party developers.
With a runtime of more than one hour, this is shaping up to be one of the biggest State of Play broadcasts in recent memory, and expectations are already running high across the PlayStation community.
State of Play Airs Today
The June 2026 State of Play will take place on June 2, with the livestream starting at 11:00 PM CEST in Europe.
Sony has confirmed that the presentation will be streamed live through PlayStation’s official YouTube and Twitch channels, allowing players worldwide to tune in and watch the announcements as they happen.
According to the company, the event will run for over 60 minutes and feature a wide variety of upcoming PlayStation titles.
Marvel’s Wolverine Takes Center Stage
So far, only one game has been officially confirmed for the showcase: Marvel’s Wolverine from Insomniac Games.
Sony revealed that the presentation will include a closer look at the highly anticipated action-adventure title, featuring new gameplay footage, combat details, and additional information about Logan’s journey.
After years of anticipation, many fans are hoping the event will finally bring a release date announcement.
Rumors Point to Additional First-Party Reveals
Beyond Wolverine, speculation is already building around what other PlayStation Studios projects could appear during the show.
One of the most discussed rumors involves a potential God of War spin-off focusing on Faye, the mother of Atreus. While nothing has been officially confirmed, recent reports suggest Sony may have more surprises in store.
Studios such as Bend Studio, Firesprite, and Media Molecule could also use the event to unveil new projects that have remained under wraps for several years.
Third-Party Publishers Expected to Join
The State of Play is also expected to feature a strong lineup of third-party games.
Many industry observers believe Capcom could reveal a release date for Onimusha: Way of the Sword, while other publishers may showcase new trailers, gameplay demonstrations, and launch dates for upcoming PS5 releases.
Given the extended runtime, Sony appears to be preparing a substantial presentation covering a broad range of genres and projects.
One of PlayStation’s Biggest Shows of the Year
With over an hour of announcements planned, the June 2026 State of Play has the potential to become one of PlayStation’s most important showcases of the year.
Marvel’s Wolverine is already guaranteed to appear, but fans are hoping for additional first-party reveals, major third-party announcements, and perhaps a few unexpected surprises along the way.
Whether Sony can meet those expectations will become clear once the livestream begins.
