Amazon’s upcoming God of War live-action series continues to take shape as several new cast members have officially been revealed. The production is steadily moving forward, and with each announcement, the adaptation of the Norse saga becomes clearer. The latest additions bring important characters from the games into the spotlight.
The series, produced by Sony Pictures Television, Amazon MGM Studios, and PlayStation Productions, is based on the Norse-era storyline introduced in 2018’s God of War and continued in Ragnarök.
Modi, Magni, Gna, and Thrud Join the Story
Louis Cunningham has been cast as Modi, while Ben Chapple will portray Magni. Evelyn Miller joins the series as Gna, and Island Austin will play Thrud. Cunningham and Austin are set as series regulars, whereas Chapple and Miller will appear in recurring roles.

All four characters are closely connected to Thor and Odin in the Norse mythological arc. Modi and Magni are sons of Thor, each representing different aspects of strength and legacy. A Faithful Adaptation of the Norse Saga
The live-action series is expected to closely follow the narrative framework of the recent games, focusing on the journey of Kratos and Atreus through the Nine Realms. At its core, the story explores the evolving father-son relationship as they attempt to fulfill Faye’s final wish.
At the same time, the larger conflict involving Odin, Thor, and the Aesir gods will likely serve as a central driving force of the plot. With the inclusion of these newly announced characters, the show appears to be building toward a comprehensive adaptation of the Norse storyline.
Previously Confirmed Cast Members
Ryan Hurst has been cast as Kratos, while Callum Vinson will portray the young Atreus. Other confirmed roles include Heimdall, Thor, Odin, Baldur, Mimir, and the dwarven brothers Brok and Sindri. The growing ensemble suggests a large-scale production aiming to capture the depth and scope of the games.
Two Seasons Already Ordered
Amazon has already ordered two seasons of the series, signaling strong confidence in the project. Ronald D. Moore is serving as showrunner and writer, with Frederick E.O. Toye directing the first episodes.
