Sony could be preparing its next major PlayStation presentation for just a few weeks from now. A usually reliable insider believes a new State of Play in September is now extremely likely, although an exact date has yet to be confirmed.
Following the major State of Play presentation in June, Sony could already be preparing another showcase for September.
That’s according to well-known insider NateTheHate, who has previously provided accurate information about the timing of several Nintendo and PlayStation presentations.

Asked about the possibility of a State of Play taking place in September, he described such an event as “incredibly likely”, suggesting that another PlayStation presentation could be coming very soon.
For now, however, he is apparently still trying to confirm the exact date.
Sony has repeatedly used September for PlayStation showcases
Another State of Play next month certainly wouldn’t be unusual.
Sony has repeatedly used September for major PlayStation presentations in recent years. In 2024, a State of Play was held on September 24, while the 2025 edition followed on September 25.
September has also regularly appeared on Sony’s presentation calendar in previous years.
However, Sony has not officially announced a September 2026 State of Play at this point.
A separate rumor circulating online points to September 3 as a possible date. That claim comes from a different source with a considerably less reliable track record, however, so it should be treated with caution for now.
What could Sony show at the next State of Play?
Of course, the biggest question is what games could actually appear.
So far, NateTheHate has not confirmed any specific titles for the rumored September presentation.
One game already at the center of speculation is Intergalactic: The Heretic Prophet from Naughty Dog. Since its reveal at The Game Awards 2024, things have remained relatively quiet around the ambitious science-fiction project.
Sony also has several other projects that could potentially appear during the presentation.
With Marvel’s Wolverine scheduled to launch in September, Sony could also use another State of Play to give the game one final major promotional push.
As usual, upcoming third-party games could also make up a significant portion of the presentation.
For now, however, any specific lineup remains purely speculative.
An official announcement could come at short notice
Sony frequently announces State of Play presentations only shortly before they take place.
If the latest information proves accurate, an official announcement could therefore arrive at relatively short notice.
Until then, one important point remains: A State of Play for September 2026 has not yet been officially confirmed.
However, NateTheHate’s comments combined with Sony’s previous presentation schedule suggest that PlayStation fans may indeed have another show to look forward to next month.
