Ubisoft has shared new information about the future of the Assassin’s Creed franchise. Under the leadership of series content head Jean Guesdon, the company is preparing several new projects that aim to expand the Assassin’s Creed universe in different directions.
Alongside the previously confirmed Assassin’s Creed Black Flag remake, Ubisoft also provided updates on upcoming titles such as Assassin’s Creed Hexe and Assassin’s Creed Invictus.
Assassin’s Creed Hexe Will Offer a Darker Tone
Ubisoft has so far revealed very little about Assassin’s Creed Hexe, but the project continues to generate significant interest among fans. The game is believed to be set in the 17th century during the era of witch trials in the Holy Roman Empire.
According to Ubisoft, the title will deliver a much darker atmosphere than previous entries in the series. The developers want to create a unique narrative experience that stands apart from the traditional Assassin’s Creed formula.
However, the studio emphasized that the game is still in an intensive stage of development, which means more details will be shared at a later time.
Assassin’s Creed Invictus Focuses on PvP Gameplay
Another major project is Assassin’s Creed Invictus, a new multiplayer game centered around PvP combat. The title is being developed by a team at Ubisoft Montreal, which includes several developers who previously worked on For Honor.
Ubisoft also addressed some of the rumors surrounding the project. Reports suggesting that the game would resemble party style games similar to Fall Guys have not been confirmed by the company.
Assassin’s Creed Jade Still in Development
Ubisoft confirmed that Assassin’s Creed Jade, the mobile entry set in ancient China, is still actively in development. The game is being created in partnership with Tencent and aims to bring the Assassin’s Creed experience to mobile devices.
Ubisoft Exploring a New Approach to Multiplayer
The company also revealed that it is considering the return of cooperative gameplay in future Assassin’s Creed titles. While an earlier multiplayer focused project was canceled, Ubisoft stated that the lessons learned from that development will help shape future online features.
PS5 Pro’s Upgraded PSSR Update: What It Means and Which Games Will Benefit
The goal is to deliver a broader range of experiences across the Assassin’s Creed universe.
With several projects currently in development, Ubisoft appears committed to expanding the franchise with new settings, gameplay styles, and multiplayer options.
