With Grand Theft Auto 6 now officially available for pre-order, Rockstar Games has revealed plenty of new details about one of the most anticipated games of all time.
From PS5 Pro support and new story hints to the different editions and the controversial physical release, here’s everything we know so far.
GTA 6 Officially Supports PS5 Pro
One of the biggest confirmations is that Grand Theft Auto 6 will be PS5 Pro Enhanced.
The PlayStation Store listing confirms that Rockstar is taking advantage of Sony’s more powerful console, although the developer has not yet revealed what improvements players can expect.
Possible enhancements could include:
- Higher resolution
- More stable frame rates
- Improved visual quality
- Support for Sony’s PSSR upscaling technology
Rockstar is expected to share more technical details closer to launch.
New Story Structure Could Resemble Red Dead Redemption 2
Another interesting discovery comes from Rockstar’s description of the Ultimate Edition.
According to the publisher, exclusive bonuses will be unlocked throughout Jason and Lucia’s story, with new content becoming available as players progress through different chapters.
This strongly suggests that GTA 6 could adopt a chapter-based narrative similar to Red Dead Redemption 2, where the story evolved over multiple chapters and different parts of the world changed as players advanced.
If true, Jason and Lucia may gradually explore new areas of Leonida throughout the campaign instead of having everything available from the beginning.
Rockstar has not officially confirmed this structure yet.
Ultimate Edition Includes Exclusive Content
Alongside the Standard Edition, Rockstar is also offering an Ultimate Edition packed with additional content.
It includes:
- Exclusive vehicles
- Premium weapons
- Unique outfits
- Cosmetic customization options
- Exclusive locations such as Rideout Customs and Sara’s Unisex Salon
Some of these features appear to be exclusive to Ultimate Edition owners, which has already sparked debate within the community.
Physical Edition Without a Disc?
Perhaps the biggest controversy surrounds the physical release.
Current information suggests that the boxed version of GTA 6 may include a download code instead of a physical disc.
While Rockstar has yet to provide a detailed explanation, many collectors are disappointed by the possibility of buying a boxed copy without an actual game disc inside.
Price Seems Fair to Many Players
Before the official announcement, many fans expected GTA 6 to cost well over $100.
Instead, Rockstar confirmed that the Standard Edition will launch for around $80, while the Ultimate Edition will cost approximately $100.
For a game that has been in development for well over a decade, many players believe the pricing is reasonable.
Our Opinion
After years of waiting, GTA 6 is finally starting to take shape, and the latest announcements have only increased the excitement.
In our opinion, the Standard Edition’s price feels fair, considering the scale, ambition and development time behind Rockstar’s biggest project yet.
However, we’re disappointed by the reported decision to release the physical version without a disc. For many collectors, buying a boxed copy still means owning a physical game—not just another download code.
The confirmed PS5 Pro support is excellent news, and the potential chapter-based story structure could make GTA 6 even more immersive than expected.
With the game launching on November 19, 2026, we expect Rockstar to reveal even more gameplay footage, technical details and perhaps another trailer in the coming months.
