EA DICE has revealed the full patch notes for the upcoming Hunter/Prey update. The update launches on April 14, 2026 and will officially bring Season 2 of Battlefield 6 to an end.
The patch includes major changes to progression, improvements for the Redsec battle royale mode, a new Ping 2.0 system and more tools for community creators.
Progression System Is Being Reworked
EA DICE wants to make progression feel more balanced and rewarding.
Players will now earn more XP for directly using specific weapons and vehicles, as well as for kills and assists. Multiplayer progression has also been adjusted so that players gain XP at a similar pace regardless of the playlist they choose.
In addition, overall playtime will now be more important than match placement, while XP rewards for kills and assists are being increased by 50 percent.
Ping 2.0 Improves Team Communication
The update also introduces a reworked ping system.
Ping 2.0 is designed to be more reliable and improve communication between teammates. Marking enemies, drones and vehicles at long range should now be much more accurate.
The system will also do a better job of identifying enemies standing near interactive objects like loot chests, reducing the chance of false pings.
EA DICE has also fixed an issue where pings could remain active after changing loadouts.
Redsec Gets Faster And More Dynamic
The Redsec battle royale mode is also receiving several changes aimed at making matches feel more dynamic.
Chest opening animations have been sped up and players will now find more ammunition. A new armor plate bundle is also being added.
The Traverser Mark 2 vehicle is making a return, while the Warhammer will now be more effective at destroying environmental objects.
Solo Mode Still Needs More Work
EA DICE also confirmed that internal tests for the solo mode have been successful.
However, the mode is not ready for a full release yet. According to the developers, more balancing work is still needed before it can become a permanent part of the game.
New Portal Tool For Community Creators
Players who enjoy creating custom modes will also get access to a new Portal Gadget Tool.
This tool will allow creators to build more advanced gameplay logic, control how players interact with the world and create more reactive custom experiences without needing complicated workarounds.
