Developer Sucker Punch Productions has expanded Ghost of Yōtei with a brand new multiplayer experience. The newly released Ghost of Yōtei Legends mode introduces a cooperative online experience. This new mode also adds supernatural elements to the game’s world. The update is available now. It is free for all players who own Ghost of Yōtei on PlayStation 5.
The mode builds upon the foundations of the popular Legends mode from Ghost of Tsushima, but introduces new enemies, abilities, and story elements inspired by the world of Ghost of Yōtei.
Demonic Versions of the Yōtei Six
At the center of the new mode are the Yōtei Six, who appear as powerful demonic bosses. These larger than life enemies are designed to challenge multiple players at once and represent supernatural versions of the warlords that shaped Atsu’s story in the main campaign.

In Legends, the narrative is retold many years or even centuries after the original events of Ghost of Yōtei. This new perspective transforms the characters and conflicts into mythic legends passed down through time.
The bosses are accompanied by followers and powerful enemies, creating intense cooperative battles for players.
Multiple Classes With Unique Playstyles
Players can choose from several different combat roles, each with its own weapons and abilities. These classes are designed to complement each other in cooperative gameplay.
Among the available classes are
• Samurai, wielding a powerful Odachi
• Archer, using a Yari for ranged combat
• Mercenary, fighting with dual katanas
Each class features its own progression tree, allowing players to unlock new abilities, upgrade equipment, and customize their combat style over time.
Several Cooperative Game Modes
Ghost of Yōtei Legends introduces multiple mission types. These types are designed specifically for multiplayer gameplay.
Story Missions
Narrated by a storyteller, these missions focus on the legends surrounding the four main bosses of the Yōtei Six.
Survival Mode
Up to four players defend an area against waves of enemies. These waves become increasingly difficult.
Raid Missions
A new raid will arrive next month, challenging players to fight the most powerful members of the Yōtei Six, including the Dragon and Lord Saito.
New Cosmetic Rewards
The update also adds a range of Legends exclusive cosmetic items that players can unlock through gameplay.
These cosmetics allow players to further personalize their characters and are designed specifically for the multiplayer experience.
Free Update for Ghost of Yōtei Owners
Ghost of Yōtei Legends is available now as a free update for everyone who owns Ghost of Yōtei on PlayStation 5.
With this addition, Sucker Punch continues to expand the game with cooperative gameplay while building on the successful multiplayer formula introduced in Ghost of Tsushima.
